The ZDF will get free Apps for iPhone & Co. to market. The announced director Markus Schaechter.
The first app, which still appears in the spring of 2011 granted access to YouTube from mobile library (mail archive). An exact date was not mentioned by Schachter. He promised, however, that both the app for the iPhone and iPad as well as "Android" smartphone comes. 2012 defines beginning ZDF then a 'heute "app (Nachrichten) well a' SPORTstudio app after.
The ZDF director sees potential criticism with equanimity. In his view, had the private publishers who make money at their own apps, long enough for the opportunity to establish their offers. The ZDF Apps gives it for free, because the audience already has paid the license fee for the content. It also provides for the Broadcasting Treaty.
